Battery Functions

The HTB series batteries come with the following functions:

● Indicator Light Display

  • Four light bars are located on the front of the battery to indicate remaining power. Short-press the power button on the battery to check the power level; the number of lit light bars corresponds to the current battery charge. Please charge the battery promptly when the power is lower than 25%.

    (Note: Fully charge the battery before first use.)

  • During charging, the light bars will light up sequentially. Once fully charged, the battery will cut off power automatically, and all light bars will turn off.

● Charge & Discharge Protection

  • Built-in overvoltage and overcurrent protection mechanisms to guarantee safe and stable charging. It also provides overdischarge, overcurrent and short-circuit protection to avoid battery damage.

● Health Management

  • The system can automatically adjust the loss coefficient when the battery voltage is too low, and stop charging automatically upon full charge to extend the battery service life.

24V BMS Pin Definition

24V BMS CAN Message Description

After power-on, the device continuously transmits data to the CAN bus.

The data frame ID is 0x302 with a length of 8 bytes.

  • Byte 1 & Byte 2: Battery voltage data

    Example:

    84 09

    0x84 = low byte, 0x09 = high byte

    Combined value: 0x0984 = 2436

    Voltage calculation: 2436 ÷ 100 = 24.36 V

  • Byte 3 & Byte 4: Battery current data

    Example:

    12 00

    0x12 = low byte, 0x00 = high byte

    Combined value: 0x0012 = 18

    Current calculation: 18 ÷ 100 = 0.18 A

  • Byte 5: Battery mainboard temperature

    Example: 0x12 = 18 ℃

  • Byte 6: Battery cell temperature

    Example: 0x12 = 18 ℃

  • Byte 7 & Byte 8: State of Charge (remaining battery capacity)

Example:

5A 00

0x5A = low byte, 0x00 = high byte

Combined value: 0x005A = 90

Remaining capacity: 90%

Operation Instructions

● Check Battery Status: When the battery is powered off, short-press the battery once to display the current remaining power.

● Power On the Battery: Short-press once first, then long-press for approx. 1 second. The battery is successfully activated when the power indicator lights stay on.

● Power Off the Battery: Short-press once first, then long-press for approx. 1 second. The battery is turned off once all power indicators go out.

● Battery Charging

○ Two buckles are located on the front of the battery. Squeeze the two buckles firmly, insert the battery into the charging dock in the direction shown in the diagram, push it all the way in and release the buckles to lock the battery onto the charging dock. Removal follows the reverse operation by pulling outward.

○ To guarantee charging efficiency and safety, the original factory charger is recommended.

The HTB24 battery uses a Type‑C charging cable together with the supplied 65W charger. If using a third-party charger, use a power adapter rated above 45W.

The HTB48 battery uses an XT60 charging cable together with the supplied 252W power adapter. If using a third-party charger, use a power adapter rated above 90W.

HTB24 Battery Charging Diagram:

HTB48 Battery Charging Diagram:

● Power HighTorque humanoid robot series products with the battery

○ Squeeze the two front buckles of the battery, insert the battery into the robot battery compartment, push fully inward and release the buckles for locking. After powering on the battery, the robot main controller will start automatically. Short-press the large button on the left; the red indicator lights up, indicating the joint modules are activated successfully.

○ When shutting down the robot, short-press the motor switch to turn off motors first, then power off the battery. Do NOT cut off the battery directly.

Precautions

Safety Guidelines for Use

● Do NOT short-circuit battery positive and negative terminals

Avoid direct contact between positive/negative poles and conductive objects (such as metal), which may cause short circuit, fire or explosion.

● Prevent overcharging and overdischarging

Charge only with HighTorque original charging dock. The battery is equipped with overcharge and overdischarge protection; nevertheless, avoid leaving the battery fully drained or fully charged for prolonged idle periods.

● Keep away from high-temperature environments

Recommended operating temperature: 0℃–45℃. Recommended storage temperature: -10℃–35℃. Do not expose to direct sunlight, open flames, or prolonged high-temperature charging/discharging.

● Avoid physical impact and puncture

Do not drop, collide or squeeze the battery. It is strictly prohibited to pierce, disassemble or incinerate the battery.

● Do not use in humid or wet environments

The battery is electronic equipment. Keep dry during operation to prevent short circuit or corrosion caused by water ingress.

Charging Precautions

● Use matched chargers with compatible voltage and current specifications.

● Place the battery on a flat, ventilated surface free of flammables during charging.

● If the battery remains unused for a long period, top up charge every 1~2 months to prevent damage from overdischarge.

● Disconnect the charger promptly once fully charged; avoid long-term continuous charging standby.

Storage & Transportation

● For long-term storage, maintain battery charge level at approximately 60%.

● Do not transport together with metal items.

● This battery can be carried on high-speed trains, aircraft and other public transport. You must strictly comply with relevant national laws, regulations and carrier requirements. We can provide battery specifications and compliance documents to assist you passing security inspections when required.

● Store in well-ventilated, dry, shaded areas free of corrosive gas.

● If stored for more than 6 months without use, recharge and inspect battery status before reuse.

Troubleshooting

Stop use immediately and contact technical support if any of the following conditions occur:

● Battery swelling, strange odour, deformation or abnormal overheating;

● No response during charging or abnormal power output;

● Continuous abnormal flashing of indicators;

● System alarms for overvoltage, overcurrent or other faults.
