2. Product Overview

•Battery
The HTB24 battery and HTB48 battery are independently developed by High Torque Robotics, and are suitable for the bipedal robot Mini Pi and the humanoid robot Mini Hi respectively. The overall shell is made of ABS material, and the interior adopts a safe and advanced BMS (Battery Management System) battery management system, which provides strong power for the robot.
Charging Compartment
The HTB24 battery and HTB48 battery adopt the independently developed charging compartment by High Torque Robotics, with a Type-C charging interface.

3. Technical Parameters

4. Battery Functions

The HTB Series batteries have the following functions
•Indicator Light Display
○There are four light pillars on the front of the battery, which indicate different power levels of the battery.

•Charge-Discharge Protection: It is equipped with overvoltage, overcurrent, and reverse connection protection mechanisms to ensure safe and stable charging. It supports over-discharge, overcurrent, and short-circuit protection to prevent battery damage.
•Automatic Discharge: When the battery remains fully charged for more than 1 day, it will automatically discharge to approximately 97%; if it remains fully charged for more than 7 days, it will automatically discharge to approximately 60% for storage.
•Thermal Balance: It can evenly regulate the heat generated during operation, effectively preventing the battery cells from performance degradation caused by excessively rapid temperature rise.

24V BMS Pin Description

24V BMS CAN Message Description
After power-on, it will continuously send data to the CAN bus.

The data frame ID is 0x302, with a length of 8 bytes.

Bytes 1-2 are the battery voltage data. For the value "84 09", "84" is the low 8 bits and "09" is the high 8 bits.0x0984=2436,2436/100=24.36V

Bytes 3-4 are the battery current data. For the value "12 00", "12" is the low 8 bits and "00" is the high 8 bits.0x0012=18,18/100=0.18A

Bytes 5-6 are the battery temperature data. For the value "FF 0A", "FF" is the low 8 bits and "0A" is the high 8 bits.0x0AFF=2815,2815/100=28.15V

Bytes 7-8 are the battery remaining power data. For the value "5A 00", "5A" is the low 8 bits and "00" is the high 8 bits. 0x005A = 90, so the remaining power is 90%.

48V BMS Pin Description

48V BMS CAN Message Description
After power-on, it will continuously send data to the CAN bus.

5. Instructions for Use

•Checking Battery Status: When the battery is not activated, press the battery briefly once to display the current battery power level.
•Activating the Battery: First press briefly once, then press and hold for approximately 1 second. When the power indicator light stays on, it means the battery has been turned on normally.
•Turning Off the Battery: First press briefly once, then press and hold for approximately 1 second. When the power indicator light goes out, it means the battery has been turned off.
•Battery Charging: There are two buckle structures on the front of the battery. Firmly squeeze the two buckles, insert the battery into the charging compartment in the direction shown in the diagram, push it all the way to the deepest position to release the two buckles, and lock them into the charging compartment—this will secure the battery in the charging compartment. To remove the battery, follow the same principle, but pull it out in the opposite direction. Charge the battery using a Type-C charging cable and a power adapter with a power output of 45W or higher. The battery needs to be turned on during charging.

Schematic Diagram

•Powering the Robot with the Battery:
○Squeeze the two buckles on the front of the battery firmly, insert it into the robot’s battery compartment, push it all the way to the deepest position, then release the buckles to lock the battery in place. Next, activate the battery, then briefly press the motor switch on the robot’s back panel, and finally press and hold the main control switch for 2-3 seconds.
○When turning off the robot, first briefly press the motor switch, then press and hold the main control switch, and finally turn off the battery. Do not turn off the battery directly under any circumstances.

6. Cautions

6.1 Safety Instructions for Use

•Short-circuiting the positive and negative terminals of the battery is strictly prohibited.
Do not allow the positive and negative terminals to come into direct contact with electrical conductors (such as metal), to prevent short circuits, fires, or explosions.
•Overcharging and Over-discharging are Prohibited
Please use the original High Torque charging compartment for charging; the battery is equipped with overcharge and over-discharge protection, but it is still necessary to avoid prolonged use until the battery is fully depleted or leaving it unused when fully charged.
•Keep Away from High-Temperature Environments
The recommended operating temperature for the battery is 0℃–45℃, and the recommended storage temperature is -10℃–35℃. Avoid exposure to direct sunlight, proximity to fire sources, or prolonged charging/discharging in high-temperature environments.
•Avoid External Impact and Puncture
Dropping, colliding with, or crushing the battery itself is prohibited; piercing, disassembling, or incinerating the battery is strictly prohibited.
•Do not use (the device/battery) in humid or wet environments.
The battery is an electronic device. It should be kept dry during use to prevent short circuits or corrosion caused by water ingress.

6.2 Charging Cautions

•Use the matching charger and ensure the voltage and current are compatible;
•During charging, the (battery/device) should be placed on a flat surface that is well-ventilated and free of flammable materials;
•If the battery has not been used for a long time, it is recommended to recharge it once every 1-2 months to avoid damage caused by over-discharging;
•Please disconnect the charger in a timely manner once the battery is fully charged to avoid long-term "plugged-in standby" mode.

6.3 Storage and Transportation

•For long-term storage, it is recommended to keep the battery charge level at approximately 60%;
•Mixing and transporting (the battery) with metal objects is prohibited;
•This battery can be carried on public transportation such as high-speed railways and airplanes, but it is necessary to strictly comply with the relevant national laws, regulations and the rules of the operating entities. If transportation security checks are required, we can provide the battery product's specification parameters and compliance certification materials to assist you in smoothly passing the security check process.
⚠️ Special Reminder:
Due to potential differences in the standards for carrying lithium batteries across various regions and transportation entities, we shall not be liable for consequences such as refusal of acceptance, refusal of transportation, or delays arising from carrying or checking in the battery. Meanwhile, if a safety accident occurs due to the customer's own non-compliant operations or failure to abide by regulations, we shall not bear any legal liability. Please be advised and use the battery properly.
•The storage location should be well-ventilated, dry, away from direct light, and free of corrosive gases;
•If the battery is stored for more than 6 months without use, it is recommended to recharge it and check its status before use.

6.4 Abnormal Handling

If any of the following situations is found, please stop using (the battery/device) immediately and contact technical support:
•Battery swelling, unusual odor, deformation, and abnormal heating;
•No response during charging or abnormal battery output;
•The indicator light flashes abnormally continuously;
•The system indicates overvoltage, overcurrent, or other faults.
